Usage
Wearing netherite armor reduces damage taken from most damage types.
Its durability does not decrease because of fire damage (e.g. lava, fire, etc.)
Statistics
When a full set of netherite armor is worn, the set provides 20 ( × 10) armor points, 12 ( × 6) armor toughness, and 40% knockback resistance.
| Type | Armor | Armor toughness | Knockback resistance | Durability | Enchantability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 ( × 10) | 12 ( × 6) | 4 (40%) | N/A | N/A | |

Damage reduction
Wearing armor reduces incoming damage according to two values: armor, and armor toughness. Each piece of armor provides a given armor and armor toughness value, and the values from each armor piece are added together when calculating damage reduction.
The strength of incoming damage also determines the damage reduction of worn armor, as armor does not protect in a linear fashion.
| Minimum | 25% | 50% | 75% | Maximum | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Damage reduction | 16% | 32% | 48% | 64% | 80% |
| Incoming damage | 80HP × 40 | 60HP × 30 | 40HP × 20 | 20HP × 10 | 0HP |
Knockback resistance
Each netherite armor piece gives a knockback resistance of 1 (10%), which results in a knockback reduction of 40% with a full set. The Blast Protection enchantment can be applied to armor to increase the user's explosion knockback resistance.
Equipping
Players can equip netherite armor by placing it in their inventory, using the item, or via a dispenser. When equipped, the armor is rendered. Some other humanoids can also render the armor, pick it up, equip it, and be equipped via a dispenser; see the table below.
