How it works

Free, no sign-up, results in seconds

  1. Paste or drop your log. latest.log, a crash report, an hs_err_pid file or a .log.gz — several files at once are fine. Huge logs are shortened in your browser.
  2. We analyze it. The analyzer reads your loader, Minecraft and Java versions and your mod list and checks the log for 46 known problems.
  3. Fix it and share the link. Every problem comes with step-by-step fixes and links to the right mod downloads. Send the link to a friend, a Discord server or your host's support.

What the analyzer detects

46 known problems, with a fix for each

Missing dependencies

A mod needs another mod, or a newer version of it, that is not installed.

Mod 'Sodium' requires any version of fabric-api, which is missing!

Mod conflicts & Mixins

Two mods change the same code, or a mod is made for another loader or Minecraft version.

Mixin apply for mod create failed: InvalidInjectionException

Wrong Java version

The game or a mod needs a newer or older Java than the one that started it.

UnsupportedClassVersionError: class file version 65.0

Out of memory

Too little RAM for your modpack, or more RAM than your PC can give.

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

GPU driver crashes

Outdated or broken graphics drivers, and shaders your graphics card cannot handle.

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in atio6axx.dll

Ticking entities & corrupted chunks

A broken entity, block entity or chunk crashes the world while it loads.

Description: Ticking entity

Server issues

The port is already in use, the EULA is not accepted, or the server cannot keep up.

**** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!

Plugin errors

Missing plugin dependencies and plugins built for another server version on Paper and Spigot.

Unknown/missing dependency plugins: [Vault]

Where to find your logs

Paste the path into Explorer or Finder to open it

Windows%APPDATA%\.minecraft\logs\latest.log
macOS~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs/latest.log
Linux~/.minecraft/logs/latest.log

Crash reports are in the crash-reports folder next to logs. Java crashes (hs_err_pid….log) are in the .minecraft folder itself.

Windows%USERPROFILE%\curseforge\minecraft\Instances\<modpack>\logs\latest.log
macOS~/Documents/curseforge/minecraft/Instances/<modpack>/logs/latest.log

Quickest way: in the CurseForge app, right-click the modpack and choose Open Folder, then open logs or crash-reports.

Windows%APPDATA%\PrismLauncher\instances\<instance>\minecraft\logs\latest.log
macOS~/Library/Application Support/PrismLauncher/instances/<instance>/minecraft/logs/latest.log
Linux~/.local/share/PrismLauncher/instances/<instance>/minecraft/logs/latest.log

Older instances and MultiMC use .minecraft instead of minecraft. In the launcher, select the instance and click Folder, or open its Minecraft Log page to copy the log.

Windows%APPDATA%\ModrinthApp\profiles\<profile>\logs\latest.log
macOS~/Library/Application Support/ModrinthApp/profiles/<profile>/logs/latest.log
Linux~/.local/share/ModrinthApp/profiles/<profile>/logs/latest.log

In the app, open the instance and use the Logs tab, or choose Open folder from its menu.

Log<server folder>/logs/latest.log
Crashes<server folder>/crash-reports/
PanelFiles → logs → latest.log

Paper, Purpur and Spigot keep older logs as .log.gz files in the same folder: drop them here as they are, they are unpacked in your browser.

API for developers

Free JSON API, mclo.gs-compatible fields

Upload logs from your launcher, panel or bot

Upload logs from your launcher, server panel or Discord bot and get the share link, a delete token and the analysis as JSON. No key needed. The field names follow mclo.gs, so most integrations only need the new address. By using the API you confirm that the logs you send contain no passwords or other secrets.

Create a log

curl -X POST https://mineuniverse.net/api/logs --data-urlencode "[email protected]"

# gzip body, options in the query (expires in days, source = your app)
gzip -c latest.log | curl -X POST "https://mineuniverse.net/api/logs?expires=30&source=mylauncher" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/gzip" --data-binary @-
{"success":true,"id":"aB3dE9x","url":"https://mineuniverse.net/logs/aB3dE9x","raw":"https://mineuniverse.net/logs/aB3dE9x/raw",
 "token":"<64 hex characters>","created":1791200000,"expires":1798976000,"lines":1201,"errors":8,
 "analysis":{"type":"client","software":"fabric","mc_version":"1.20.1","problems":[{"rule":"fabric_missing_dep","severity":"error","title":"…","solutions":["…"]}]}}

Read, analyze and delete

curl "https://mineuniverse.net/api/logs/aB3dE9x?insights=1" # info + mclo.gs-style insights (?raw=1 adds the text)
curl https://mineuniverse.net/logs/aB3dE9x/raw # plain text
curl -X POST https://mineuniverse.net/api/logs/analyse --data-binary @latest.log -H "Content-Type: text/plain" # analyze without saving
curl -X DELETE https://mineuniverse.net/api/logs/aB3dE9x -H "Authorization: Bearer <token>"

Limits

Up to 10 MB and 25,000 lines per log (longer logs keep the first 2,000 lines and the end) · 10 uploads per minute and 60 per hour per IP · 30 analyses per minute · expiry 1, 7, 30, 90 days (default 90). Errors return {"success":false,"error":"…"} with HTTP 400, 404, 413, 429 (with Retry-After) or 503; every response carries X-RateLimit headers.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my Minecraft crash log?
The game log is latest.log in the logs folder of your Minecraft directory (on Windows %APPDATA%\.minecraft\logs). Crash reports are in the crash-reports folder next to it, and Java crashes (hs_err_pid….log) land in the game folder itself. Launchers such as CurseForge, Prism and the Modrinth App keep a separate folder per modpack: the "Where to find your logs" section above lists every path.
Is my log private?
Before a log is saved we remove IP addresses, access tokens, session IDs, e-mail addresses and the user name in file paths, and you can also hide player names. Shared logs get a random link, are never listed on the site and are hidden from search engines. A log is kept for the time you choose (1 to 90 days) after its last view, and you can delete it at any time from the browser you uploaded it with. "Analyze only" saves nothing at all.
What can the analyzer detect?
It knows 46 known problems: missing or outdated dependencies, mods for the wrong loader or Minecraft version, Mixin conflicts, the wrong Java version, out-of-memory crashes, graphics driver crashes, ticking entities and corrupted chunks, server port and EULA problems and plugin errors on Paper and Spigot. It also reads your loader, Minecraft and Java versions and your mod list, and links the mods it recognises to their MineUniverse pages.
Which Java version does Minecraft need?
Minecraft 1.16.5 and older run on Java 8, 1.17 needs Java 16, 1.18 to 1.20.4 need Java 17, 1.20.5 to 1.21.x need Java 21 and 26.1 and newer need Java 25. The official launcher brings the right Java along; third-party launchers and servers often use the Java installed on your PC, which is a common reason for crashes right at the start.
My log is very large. Does that work?
Yes. Logs up to 10 MB and 25,000 lines are analyzed in full. Larger files are shortened in your browser before the upload: the first 2,000 lines and the end of the log are kept, because that is where the loader, the mod list and the crash are. You can drop several files at once, and .log.gz files from the logs folder are unpacked automatically.
Can I use the analyzer from my launcher, panel or Discord bot?
Yes. The free JSON API at https://mineuniverse.net/api/logs accepts a log as form data, JSON, plain text or gzip and returns the share link, a delete token and the analysis. The field names follow mclo.gs, so most existing integrations only need a new address. See "API for developers" above for examples and limits.
