Calcite is a block found in geodes, stony peaks, and ice caves.[upcoming: Fourth Drop 2026]
Obtaining
Breaking
Calcite drops as an item if mined by any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing.
- incorrect tool, drops nothing
- correct tool, drops nothing or something other than the block itself
- correct tool, drops the block itself
- italicized can be instant mined
- ↑ These durations ignore any other influential factors (e.g., Mining Fatigue) and are measured in seconds. For more information, see Breaking § Mining efficiency.
Natural generation
Calcite generates naturally as part of the structure of amethyst geodes, between the smooth basalt and block of amethyst layers. It also generates in the stony peaks in strips, and in ice caves.[upcoming: Fourth Drop 2026]
Usage
Calcite can be crafted into several decorative variants. Just like crafting the sulfur and cinnabar family, it has raw calcite slabs, stairs, walls, polished calcite, polished calcite slabs, stairs, walls, and calcite bricks, slabs, stairs, and walls. The calcite family also has an additional calcite pillar unlike the sulfur and cinnabar family do.
