Shooting stars on clear nights, each with a trail that lingers and shrinks away behind it. Most are quick and faint. About one night in five turns into a shower, and now and then a bolide crosses the sky: slow, bright, breaking up as it goes. Client side only. In game and in its files the mod is called Starfall.

/starfall status shows what is holding the stars back: how much night there is, the weather, whether tonight is a shower night. /starfall test shows them in daylight for a minute. /starfall star, /starfall bolide and /starfall shower fire them on demand. Nothing falls in rain, in the Nether or in the End.
Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge or Fabric, Java 17), 1.21.1 (NeoForge or Fabric, Java 21) or 26.2 (NeoForge or Fabric, Java 25). Fabric needs Fabric API. Client only: it works on any server, and under Sodium and Iris shader packs. The settings (frequency from Rare to Busy, brightness, showers, bolides, colours) are a Starfall page in Sodium's video settings on 1.21.1 and 26.2, and config/starfall.json on every build.
This mod has been abandoned. It works fine, but it will not receive updates.
