Simple Clouds Height Config

Adds one setting to Simple Clouds: how high the clouds sit in the world. The height is set per world on the server and applies to every player. It goes through Simple Clouds' public API and changes nothing else about the mod. In the mod list it is called Simple Clouds Cloud Height.

The setting

  • Cloud Height: 0 to 2048, 128 by default.
  • It applies to every dimension of the world and overrides the client-side cloud height option in Simple Clouds.
  • It is stored per world, in serverconfig/simplecloudsheight-server.toml inside the world folder.

Changing it

  • In singleplayer: Mods > Simple Clouds Cloud Height > Config.
  • On a server: edit the file in the world's serverconfig folder.
  • A new value applies without a restart. Simple Clouds sends the height to players when they join and at intervals after that, so everyone sees the change.

The height command

Simple Clouds' own /simpleclouds ... height set command keeps working. The config value is applied when the world loads and again only when the value itself changes, so a height set by command stays until then.

Requirements

Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, NeoForge 21.1 and Simple Clouds 0.7 or newer. The height is stored and applied by the server; in singleplayer that is your own game.

This mod has been abandoned. It works fine, but it will not receive updates.
