Dynamic Elytra
Two vapour trails come off your wingtips while you glide: thin in straight flight, thick and bright on a hard bank. The mod also draws first-person speed lines, which used to be the separate mod Slipstream. Client side only.

Trails
- They follow the wings as they spread and fold, and stop forming below 18 blocks a second.
- Other players and mobs leave them too. A fast fall leaves a thin stream, a riptide trident launch a burst. Each has its own toggle.
- Lifetime, width, opacity and how strongly a turn thickens them are sliders.
- The trail is white by default: saturation is 0, so the hue setting shows only once you raise it.
Speed lines
- Streaks that radiate from where you are heading and grow with speed, from 9 blocks a second.
- Three styles: Lines (crisp streaks), Smear (softer wedges) and Vignette (the screen edges rush and darken). Five colours: white, cyan, gold, crimson and violet.
- A strength slider each for sprinting, falling, riding, riptide and gliding. 0 turns one off.
- They are drawn over the finished frame, so they show over shader packs. The trails are unlit and look flat under one.

Settings
On NeoForge the options are under Mods, Dynamic Elytra, Config, stored in config/dynamicelytra-client.toml. Forge 1.20.1 uses the same file without a screen. Fabric uses config/dynamicelytra.json, read at startup. A config/vapor.json left by version 2.0 or older supplies the starting values.
Requirements
Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge or Fabric, Java 17), 1.21.1 (NeoForge or Fabric, Java 21) or 26.2 (NeoForge or Fabric, Java 25). Fabric needs Fabric API. Client only, nothing to install on the server.

NeoForge 1.21.1 and 26.2, Forge 1.20.1, Fabric 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 26.2. Client only. Free to use in modpacks.
