MENKIAFK is a lightweight, standalone AFK system for Minecraft servers, designed to provide reliable manual and automatic AFK detection without unnecessary dependencies or heavy background processing.
The plugin is built for server owners who want a simple AFK system while still having statistics, leaderboards, PlaceholderAPI support, and a public API for other plugins.

Lightweight by Design
MENKIAFK does not require Vault, MySQL, Redis, an economy plugin, crate plugin, custom AFK world, packet library, or external database.
Player AFK state is handled primarily in memory, while statistics are saved using lightweight YAML persistence. Leaderboards are calculated only when requested instead of continuously running in the background.
Compatibility
MENKIAFK v1.6.0 uses Java 21 bytecode and is designed as a universal build targeting Paper 1.21.11 through 26.2.
PlaceholderAPI and EssentialsX are optional integrations. MENKIAFK can handle the standard /afk command while keeping namespaced commands such as /essentials:afk available.
Developer API
MENKIAFK includes a stable read-only Public API v1. Other Bukkit/Paper plugins can check whether a player is AFK, retrieve their current AFK session, read AFK statistics, get total AFK time, and listen for AFK enter/leave events.
The public API intentionally does not expose mutable internal state or allow external plugins to directly modify MENKIAFK statistics.
Installation
Download the latest MENKIAFK JAR, place it inside your server's plugins folder, and restart the server.
Java 21 or newer is required.
