Description

Gyre: A twist or turn, usually in currents.

Finding TerraFirmaCraft mineral veins is now easier.

Hint rocks generate in the world above mineral veins just like small metal nuggets from metal ores.

Look for these rocks on the surface where they don't belong, and there's likely a mineral vein beneath:
Ore______________Hint Rock
Bituminous_Coal_____Basalt
Lignite_____________Basalt
Kaolinite___________Marble
Graphite_________Claystone
Cinnabar____________Gneiss
Cryolite_____________Slate
Saltpeter__________Diorite
Sulfur_______________Shale
Sylvite___________Dolomite
Borax________________Chert
Lapis_Lazuli______Andesite
Gypsum___________Quartzite
Halite____________Phyllite
Diamond______________Chalk

Adding hint rocks required including the TFC spawn data for mineral veins. In 1.18, I think some of the veins were too small and too rare, so sizes, spawn chances, and some shapes changed!

In 1.20, all disc shaped veins do not spawn indicators due to a TFC bug fixed in . This includes both coal veins and halite. Additional mountainous rich iron veins spawn above y 90, because no iron veins spawn deep.

In 1.18:
Coal veins are now much larger horizontal seams with fewer inclusions. Most other mineral veins are more common and doubled in size. Y-level restrictions are the same.

Recommended for anyone needing better access to minerals.

Also for 1.18, if you're only interested in the vein tweaks, see: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/tfcgyres-veinbuffs

If you're only interested in the hint rocks without vein tweaks, please comment below or contact me on the TFC discord.

Thanks to AnodeCathode of TechNodeFirmaCraft for the "hint rock" idea and initial rock selections.
