Eat it, and watch it disappear.
Munch adds eating and drinking animations to Minecraft. Every time you chew, a bite comes out of your food. When you drink, the potion, milk or honey drains out until only the bottle or bucket is left.
No hand-drawn frames: Munch works from the item's own texture. That means every food and drink in the game animates, modded ones included, with no resource packs or compatibility patches.
Munch reads each item's texture, so food from other mods works without any setup. Tested with Farmer's Delight and its add-ons on Fabric, NeoForge and Forge.
Open the settings from Mod Menu (Fabric) or the Mods list (NeoForge / Forge).
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Munch | Turn every animation on or off | On |
| Bites | Food loses a bite with every chew | On |
| Draining | Potions, milk, honey and stews empty as you drink | On |
| Other Players & Mobs | Show animations on others, not just you | On |
Settings are saved in config/munch.json.
| Loader | Minecraft |

Does it work on servers? Yes. Munch is client-side only. Install it on your own game and join any server, vanilla or modded. The server doesn't need it.
Does it work with modded food? Yes, that's the whole point. If a mod's food uses a normal flat item texture, it gets bites. Drinks and stews drain to whatever bottle or bowl the mod gives back.
What about 3D food models? Items with custom 3D models are left alone, so they look exactly as their mod made them.
Does it work with resource packs? Yes. Bites are worked out from whatever texture is loaded, so retextured food gets bitten too.
Performance? Each food is worked out once and cached. You won't notice it.
Can I use it in my modpack? Yes, of couree.
Report it on the issue tracker with your Minecraft version, loader, and the item that looks wrong. A screenshot helps a lot.
