Forgebound Chests adds five upgradeable metal chests above the vanilla wooden chest. Start from a normal chest, then climb Copper → Iron → Gold → Diamond → Netherite. Each tier keeps your items, grows storage, and uses its own forged look.
| Tier | Grid | Slots | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper | 9 × 6 | 54 | First step up from a wooden chest |
| Iron | 16 × 12 | 192 | Wide inventory |
| Gold | 16 × 48 | 768 | Tall storage, scroll to browse |
| Diamond | 16 × 192 | 3,072 | Very blast resistant |
| Netherite | 16 × 768 | 12,288 | Blast resistant and fireproof as an item |
Place two chests of the same tier side by side to make a double chest. The GUI shows up to 16 columns and 6 rows at a time, with a scrollbar for the rest.
Copper through Diamond use the same glass-core pattern so they do not collide with vanilla “surround with 8 materials” recipes:
| Result | M | G | C |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Copper Chest |
copper ingot ×4 | glass ×4 | vanilla chest (or trapped chest) |
|
Iron Chest |
iron ingot ×4 | glass ×4 | Copper Chest |
|
Gold Chest |
gold ingot ×4 | glass ×4 | Iron Chest |
|
Diamond Chest |
diamond ×4 | glass ×4 | Gold Chest |
Netherite Chest uses tinted glass and 1 netherite ingot:
G = tinted glass · C = Diamond Chest · N = netherite ingot
You can also upgrade a placed chest without emptying it. Hold the next tier's material in your main hand and right-click the chest. Contents and custom names are kept. Double chests cost twice as much. You cannot skip tiers.
Hoppers and comparators work. The Netherite Chest item is fire and lava resistant.
Install on both client and server.
