The Eye of the Darkness is a hostile entity that appears as a black, floating circle. It drifts silently above the ground and will ascend to avoid making contact with solid objects. They can be found either alone or in groups.
While it seems innocent at first, and players may even be able to pass through it, it is a dangerous entity. If a player continues to tease or provoke it, the Eye will unleash a devastating response, which can either destroy the surrounding area or summon something that will ruin you.
The Eye of the Darkness can spawn in any biome, including modded biomes. Its spawning is restricted to the following conditions:
It must be nighttime.
It must be on the surface (it will not spawn underground).
Darkness Aura: The Eye gives off a passive aura. When a player gets close to it, they will be afflicted with the Darkness status effect.
Hostile Retaliation: When a player throws a projectile that hits the Eye, it will instantly become hostile. It will summon a bolt of lightning at a random nearby location, creating a large hole and destroying the landscape.

As this mod is in early access, the spawn rates are not yet balanced. The Eye of the Darkness may spawn in numerous, excessive numbers.
A special destructive ability, as mentioned in the description, is planned for a future update. This will likely involve the creature summoning other entities to attack the player.
