DragonMineZ – Breakthrough Flight is a standalone addon for DragonMineZ 2.1.3 that transforms high-speed flight into a true Dragon Ball-style movement ability.
Instead of getting stopped by:
you can simply break straight through them while flying.
The goal is to make high-speed DragonMineZ flight feel much more powerful and cinematic.
If you're moving at full speed, the world should feel like it's getting out of your way.
By default, Breakthrough Flight activates only when you are using:
All three conditions must be active at the same time.
So normal Search Flight remains untouched.
You only start smashing through terrain when you intentionally enter the full-speed Breakthrough state.
Default behavior:
Search Flight only
โ No breakthrough
Search Flight + Sprint
โ No breakthrough
Search Flight + Ki Charge
โ No breakthrough
Search Flight + Sprint + Ki Charge
โ
Breakthrough active
While Breakthrough Flight is active, the addon automatically clears a tunnel through normal blocks in your flight path.
You can fly through:
The tunnel follows your actual movement direction instead of simply destroying a fixed cube around the player.
By default:
Broken blocks do NOT drop items.
This is intentional.
Flying through a mountain at full speed could otherwise generate hundreds or thousands of item entities and cause unnecessary lag.
The terrain is destroyed, but no giant trail of dropped blocks is left behind.
Drops can still be enabled by the server if desired.
Breakthrough Flight is powerful, but it is not unrestricted.
Bedrock is always protected.
The addon also hard-protects special blocks such as:
These cannot be destroyed by Breakthrough Flight.
Breakthrough Flight respects normal server protection checks.
Before a block is removed, the addon checks things such as:
If a player would normally not be allowed to break a block, Breakthrough Flight should not simply bypass that protection.
The mod does not intentionally turn flight into a griefing tool.
Breakthrough Flight does not give the player noclip.
That means:
The addon removes allowed blocks from your path.
It does not simply let you phase through everything.
One of the biggest improvements in 1.0.3 is the handling of ground contact.
Normally, DragonMineZ automatically disables Search Flight when your feet touch the ground.
That creates problems when trying to fly through:
Breakthrough Flight changes this behavior while the mode is active.
As long as you are still holding the required Breakthrough inputs:
touching the ground will NOT kick you out of Search Flight.
You can:
and Search Flight remains active.
The moment you stop meeting the Breakthrough requirements, normal DragonMineZ landing behavior returns.
Breakthrough Flight does not simply disable DragonMineZ's entire flight shutdown system.
It specifically blocks the automatic landing/ground-contact shutdown while Breakthrough is active.
Manual flight toggling still works.
Other legitimate shutdown conditions remain intact.
So you can still intentionally stop flying whenever you want.
Every player can choose whether they want to use Breakthrough Flight.
Open:
and switch it:
ON / OFF
This only changes your own personal setting.
It does not change the server rules.
New players have Breakthrough Flight enabled by default.
Server owners can completely control how Breakthrough Flight activates.
You can configure:
The default activation is:
Search Flight + Sprint + Ki Charge
But server owners can change it.
For example:
Turn off the Ki Charge requirement.
Turn off both Sprint and Ki requirements.
Enable Combat Flight support.
Set a minimum flight speed.
This makes the system flexible enough for different modpacks and server balancing.
Players can control their own Breakthrough setting with:
/breakthrough on
/breakthrough off
/breakthrough status
Server operators can control the global behavior with commands such as:
/breakthrough global on|off
/breakthrough searchflight on|off
/breakthrough combatflight on|off
/breakthrough requiresprint on|off
/breakthrough requireki on|off
/breakthrough minspeed <value>
/breakthrough width <value>
/breakthrough height <value>
/breakthrough drops on|off
/breakthrough particles on|off
/breakthrough sounds on|off
/breakthrough reload
These commands update the same active server configuration instead of maintaining a separate temporary ruleset.
At high speed, simply checking the block directly in front of the player is not enough.
A player may travel across multiple blocks in a single tick.
Breakthrough Flight therefore checks the movement path between positions and processes the flight corridor along that path.
This helps prevent situations where the player moves through several blocks before the addon notices the obstacle.
The system also includes performance limits to avoid huge world scans.
The default breakthrough corridor is approximately:
This gives the player enough room to actually fit through the terrain without constantly getting stuck on corners.
Both width and height can be changed by the server.
The default global limit is:
64 destroyed blocks per server tick
The addon also limits:
It does not generate chunks just to destroy terrain.
This keeps Breakthrough Flight much safer for multiplayer servers.
Noea is optional.
Breakthrough Flight has been tested with the Noea version used alongside DragonMineZ 2.1.3.
The addon works with the native DragonMineZ flight state rather than replacing Noea's systems.
It has been tested:
Special compatibility handling is included for:
FallingTree
and
Vein Mining
During Breakthrough Flight, these mods are prevented from starting additional chain-mining behavior outside the intended flight corridor.
Normal mining remains unaffected.
The final 1.0.3 build was tested with real Minecraft client/server processes.
Verified behavior includes:
onGround = trueThe final test runs kept Search Flight active through hundreds of ticks of collision and ground contact. ABSCHLUSSBERICHT

inside the mods folder.
This version has been specifically verified against DragonMineZ 2.1.3.
Unknown future DragonMineZ versions are not guaranteed to work because internal classes and flight logic may change.
Claim compatibility is based on Forge BreakEvent and normal protection hooks. Protection mods using completely custom systems may require additional compatibility.
