This article documents an April Fools' Day joke.

This feature was exclusively part of a joke version and is not currently planned for addition to regular Minecraft.

A potato eye is an item used to locate colosseums and ruined portatols (if used in the Overworld), exclusive to 24w14potato.

Usage

Similar to how eyes of ender locate strongholds, potato eyes locate colosseums and ruined portatols (if used in the overworld) by flying in the direction toward the structure upon using. In the Overworld, potato eyes fly toward ruined portatols, while in the Potato dimension, they fly toward colosseums. In the Nether and End dimensions, or in a world that doesn't have structures enabled, potato eyes drop on the ground when used.

Sounds

Potato eyes use the Friendly Creatures sound category for entity-dependent sound events.
