Make sleeping actually pass the night instead of instantly skipping it.
True Sleeping changes the way sleeping works on a Minecraft server. Instead of immediately jumping from night to morning once enough players are in bed, the server temporarily speeds up its ticks and lets the night pass naturally.
That means things can keep progressing while you sleep - furnaces, crops, redstone and other normal tick-based mechanics continue running - just much faster than usual.
When enough players go to sleep, True Sleeping temporarily accelerates the server until morning is reached.
On a reasonably performing server, the whole process should only take a few seconds (even if the server performance is poor, the night still passes)
Once sleeping is finished, the server goes straight back to its normal tick rate.
Vanilla sleeping effectively deletes several minutes of world time.
True Sleeping makes it feel more like you actually slept through that time, while still keeping sleeping quick enough that you aren't sitting in a bed for several real-world minutes.
It works especially well on survival servers where you want the world to behave a little more consistently without completely removing the convenience of beds.
True Sleeping only performs its accelerated ticking while a sleep session is actually happening.
The exact speed depends on how quickly your server can process ticks, so lighter servers will usually run more ticks.
There is also a fallback so sleeping doesn't get stuck indefinitely if the server can't accelerate as quickly as expected.
True Sleeping is made for modern Paper (1.21.9-26.x), with compatibility for Bukkit/Spigot-based servers where the required server functionality is available.
