Basics

Pavers is a mod that adds three road-paving tools to the game that allow you to create roads and paths with ease.

Craft the basic paver with two sticks, two iron ingots, and three iron nuggets. See the recipes in JEI.

Craft an empty paver design with 1 paper surrounded by 4 clay blocks. Then, surround the empty design with blocks to create a specific one. All recipes are in JEI, and the materials are listed below.

Hold a paver in your main hand and a design in your off hand. Right click any basic ground blocks (dirt, sand, gravel, etc.) to replace it with the block corresponding to the design in your hand.

Each design has 1,000 durability, allowing you to place 1,000 blocks. When a path block is broken, it drops Dross. Dross is a junk item that can be used to raise roads. 8 Dross can be crafted with 2 Dirt and 2 Gravel.

Upgrading

Upgrade to a diamond paver by combining a paver with a diamond in a smithing table. Diamond pavers can pave three blocks at a time.

Upgrade to a netherite paver by combining a diamond paver with a netherite scrap in a smithing table. A netherite paver can pave five blocks at once.

While holding shift, you can pave one block at a time with upgraded pavers.

Raising and Lowering Paths

Swap your design to the mainhand and your paver to the offhand to change the altitude of roads.

Right clicking a road block will decrease its height by one slab per click.

Right clicking while holding Left Control will raise the height by one slab. To raise a road one block, you need Dross. Raising a slab to a full block doesn't require Dross.

The keybind for raising roads can be found under Gameplay > Raise Road in the control settings.
