This really simple mod adds 27 ladders to the game with 3D Models - The idea is to have ladders that represent each type of planks, logs and stripped logs.

The ladders are cosmetic, in the sense that they behave exactly like Minecraft ladders, the main difference is that they are 3 times "stronger" than Vanilla Minecraft ones.
