This mod started as a direct Forge/NeoForge fork of the Placeable Plants mod by BisUmTo,
but later on grew into an expanded version of it.

This fork expands the original idea to work with nearly all plant-type blocks, including modded ones, instead of only a smaller selective set. And as a side effect, it also allows plants to generate during worldgen on many non-soil blocks, which can make the world look surprisingly overgrown, detailed, and interesting.
The original mod already had a really nice simple concept: let vegetation be placed on far more block surfaces than vanilla normally allows. That opens up a lot of extra freedom for builders who want to add more detail and decoration to their builds.
As the original author also pointed out, the idea makes intuitive sense too - in real life, many plants do manage to grow out of tiny cracks in stone and other unexpected places.

One side effect of this broader behavior is that plant placement rules can also influence natural generation in interesting ways. You can now sometimes find vegetation generating in places where vanilla normally would not allow it, such as:
This was originally a completely accidental side effect, but it turned out to look surprisingly good in practice and gives the world a much more overgrown, detailed, and natural-looking feel.
This effect can look especially nice alongside mods that expand foliage and natural environmental detail, such as Project: Vibrant Journeys, [Let's Do] BloomingNature, Geophilic,...

The mod includes a "placeable-common.toml" config file inside the "config" folder.
