Description

Castleblocks is a SMP focused mod. Need a server? Click here!

Say hi on Discord!

  • Introduces bricks which only the owner can easily break, this has many PvP applications.
  • Introduces boulders for use in PvP or PvE defending your castle! (Fabric & Forge 1.20+)
Fabric Only Features
  • Introduces a lockable door system that allows only certain players with keys to open the door! (1.18+ Fabric)
  • Introduces burning pitch buckets, for use in PvP or PvE defending your castle! (1.19+ Fabric)
  • Introduces several small aesthetic items and blocks for use in your castle, such as a new candle variant. (1.19+ Fabric)

It is my goal to reach parity between the Fabric and Forge versions. Please be patient with updates!

1. Craft a Trowel, all recipes can be found within REI. *NEI/JEI for Forge

2. Right click on smelted stone/deepslate to chisel it into a CastleBrick! Or polished andesite, blackstone, granite or diorite variant etc..

3. To identify Castle Bricks, right click with a Trowel to view its owner.

More details may be seen here.

Q. What is the mining level of a Castle Brick?

A. To the original builder, a Castle Brick is easily broken, to any potential intruders it is virtually impossible to break without a diamond pickaxe; which takes a long time still.

Q. What is the motive for this mod?

A. This mod serves as a clever alternative to all encompassing chunk claim mods, it is meant for SMP servers which enable PvP where players can build cool looking castles without fear of them serving no practical purpose, such as being simply destroyed or mined into during PvP. CastleBlocks fixes this by introducing blocks and doors which are difficult to break for all except the original builder. Instead of relying on chunk claiming mods, players can now raise stout forts to keep out potential invaders and griefers!

Q. Why are there missing features in X version?

A. The backports including the versions for 1.18 and 1.16 both lack features included in the main development branch of the mod, which is currently 1.20. Version 1.18 currently lacks all extra items such as pitch and resin, and will not recieve further updates. Version 1.16, due to the large changes in the codebase between versions, will not see any Castle Door varieties along with items missing in 1.18.

Can I use CastleBlocks in my modpack?
