This mod was created for 1.21.1, aimed at a fast and simple way to remove all ore generation from minecraft and some mods.
Mods supported: "Immersive Engineering", "Irons Spellbooks", "Create", "Create: Propulsion", "Oritech".
"Why do I want this?" - Mainly if you have an alternative progression system for a modpack. For example you could've created recipes for all ores using only create, and therefore might want to remove natural ore generation. Alternatively, you have your own mod that adds a different ore generation, in this case this datapack will not interfere with your mod, since it doesn't change its particular scripts.
However, this datapack could be seem as more of a guide to future modders. There's little documentation on datapacks and I hope this will help.
If you need a mod's ore removed, or want to readd anything, just go through the github and alter anything, feel free to upgrade this datapack as you wish.
But as it stands, it simply adds a no-opt configuration to all ore spawns, and also changes these features to generate nothing.
Known issues: Sadly, minecraft 1.21.1 has a problem with generation of iron veins in deepslate, these are semi-hardcoded, and even altering the noise function and the spawn condition was not able to remove its generation. The only solution I found was altering the "overworld.json". However this file is hot and big, and many mods will be interested in altering this json config. Therefore you may still see iron rarely in deepslate depending on your mods.
If you find that ores are still generating, there is likely a conflict with your datapacks and mods, someone is readding the ore generation back into your game. If its a datapack: You can try and change the order of datapacks. If its a mod: You'll have to find the culprit and add it to the list of ore generation removal.
