Boxhead Universe: Outbreak Protocol is a complete round-based survival experience built for DAI Engine 4.2.
Choose a battlefield, select a survival ruleset, configure your survivor loadout, deploy into the outbreak, earn money from combat, unlock new areas, purchase equipment, activate perks and traps, investigate hidden BLACK GLASS story clues, and survive increasingly dangerous waves of infected.
The Boxhead Universe Data Pack contains the gameplay, progression, world, combat, enemy, economy, interface, and experience logic that powers the full Boxhead experience.
Deploy into five distinct Boxhead battlegrounds:
Each map contains multiple combat areas connected through three purchasable zone expansions.
Opening new zones increases the playable battlefield, enables additional infected spawn routes, and provides access to more weapons, perks, traps, environmental clues, and tactical space.
Every map supports three different death rulesets.
A forgiving survival mode with keep-inventory support and manual return to combat.
Death temporarily removes you from the fight and costs part of your current run money.
Survivors return on later waves, and a full team wipe resets the failed wave rather than permanently ending the campaign.
The high-stakes survival ruleset.
Death is final for the current run, and once the surviving team is eliminated, the match ends.
Boxhead uses an endless wave director that continuously increases enemy pressure.
Fight several custom infected types:
Boxlaska also includes specialized cold-weather infected variants.
Later waves introduce increasingly dangerous combinations, while Giants become major threats to both survivors and battlefield defenses.
There is no final standard wave.
The objective is to survive longer.
Boxhead Universe includes a complete DAI-powered firearm system with:
Weapons use their own ammunition types, damage values, projectile behavior, magazine capacities, firing characteristics, and reload systems.
Automatic weapons support held-input firing, while projectiles travel along the direction captured when the shot is fired rather than steering toward targets.
Firearms use actual loaded magazines or chambers separate from reserve ammunition.
Firing consumes loaded ammunition, and weapons must be reloaded from the player's reserves.
Weapon stations throughout the maps allow survivors to purchase firearms or resupply weapons they already own.
Precision matters.
Boxhead tracks projectile contact against infected head areas, allowing registered headshots to reward additional money.
Standard infected currently award:
Combat earnings and wave rewards fund the rest of the survival economy.
Weapons and ammunition are purchased directly from 3D wall-mounted weapon stations positioned throughout the maps.
Move deeper into the battlefield to gain access to different equipment and resupply opportunities.
Available weapon stations include the Pistol, Hand Cannon, Carbine, Shotgun, SMG, LMG, Longwatch Rifle, and Arc Caster.
Survivor builds can also include dedicated tactical, lethal, special, and melee equipment.
Thrown equipment uses its own projectile and trajectory behavior.
Infected can also occasionally drop battlefield equipment.
Every player can configure five individual loadout profiles.
Loadouts can contain selections across multiple combat roles, including:
Your active profile is deployed when you enter a Boxhead match.
New survivors begin with a basic Service Pistol, Frag Grenade, and Combat Knife, while additional equipment can be permanently unlocked through the Armory.
Boxhead separates temporary match money from permanent Armory Credits.
Combat earnings contribute toward Armory progression, allowing players to permanently unlock additional equipment for their loadout profiles.
Unlocked equipment, Armory Credits, active profiles, and loadout configurations are stored per player.
The current Armory interface also displays each player's authoritative live credit balance directly from their persistent progression state.
Physical perk machines located throughout the maps provide temporary run upgrades:
Perks can improve survivability, weapon handling, damage, movement, and ammunition recovery.
Perks are lost on death, making them powerful but temporary investments.
Expanded combat areas contain purchasable battlefield traps including:
Activate them during a wave to damage infected entering their kill zones.
The infected can damage arena defenses.
Barricades can be repaired and reinforced during a run, while Giants can destroy them considerably faster than standard infected.
Maintaining defensive positions becomes increasingly important as wave pressure rises.
Each map contains a three-stage BLACK GLASS environmental storyline.
Opening new areas reveals hidden objects and clues that can be investigated in sequence.
Completing a map's BLACK GLASS investigation provides additional progression and access to the powerful Arc Caster.
Survival is only part of what is hidden inside the outbreak.
Boxhead Universe supports multiplayer while preserving individual progression.
Each player maintains their own:
Joining players receive their own configured survivor equipment rather than copying the host's inventory.
Players joining an already-running match also do not rebuild the active battlefield simply by connecting.
The Data Pack defines Boxhead's complete DAI experience structure, including:
DAI Engine 4.2 is required.
The companion Boxhead Universe Resource Pack is designed to provide the complete custom visual presentation, including Boxhead weapons, infected models, equipment, terminals, interface assets, projectiles, and presentation environments.
Choose your map. Build your survivor. Unlock the battlefield. Survive the outbreak.
The dead never stop.
