After seeing the kid who did this before got bulled off Planetminecraft and twitter, I decided to do my own 'fix the splashes' resource pack patch in his place. I replaced the political tripe and pandemic references in the spashes.txt with wholesome silly things instead. we get enough enough politics and controversy everywhere else, please let us have a moments breath while we chop virtual trees and grow a digital garden in peace. this pack is meant for any of us who would rather have a happy time with the game and not have to think about the mess going on outside.
Mojang, if you *ever* find this, please know from the bottom of my heart I am deeply disappointed that you actually went through with adding these splashes. MC was always a safe bastion from the rest of the world, a little zen garden for those of us with anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic disorders. It was the place where the rest of the worlds awfulness was shut out for a little while. shoving things in our faces and giving these bizarre corporate wokeisms every time we boot MC is skuzzy and I frankly want nothing to do with that. I've played and maintained content, packs, and mod support to this game for almost as long as its been around. I plan on sticking around because I know the good this game can do-- but please, for the love of whats created: back the fuck off from the politicking, go back to just being the funny block game.
Before anyone decides to start screeching 'white supremacy' or other nastiness, please know that I am a biracial hispanic artist who's the child of first generation immigrants, I'm about as far from a neo-nazi-whatever as you can get. I dont give a damn about your color or creed (barring if its hurting others), I just think this is inappropriate/stressful for my nephews and friends kids having to wade into this muck, as well as how it pushes me into a sour mood when I pop this game on to try and relax and calm a panic attack. so if you have an *issue* with this, then by all means do not use this, its not meant for you. if you want to try and tear this down, than please try, but do so acknowledging your ableism in discrimination against those of us with panic disorders.
