TSCustom — TAB & Scoreboard Custom
A lightweight Spigot/Paper plugin that gives you full control over your server's tab list and scoreboard, with everything driven from a single, well-documented config file — no coding required, and every element can be enabled or disabled individually.
Tab List
- Fully custom header and footer, multi-line, with live placeholders (server name, website, Discord link, online/max players, etc.)
- Custom per-player display name format in the tab list (combine tag prefix/suffix, player name, and live ping)
- Player skulls in the tab list — this is default Minecraft behavior, no setup needed
Scoreboard
- Personal sidebar scoreboard for every player (shows their own ping, kills, deaths, world, biome, coordinates, etc.)
- Fully custom title and lines, defined as simple text templates with placeholders
- Animated title support — list multiple title frames and they'll cycle automatically
- Option to hide the score numbers on the right side of the sidebar (works on Paper/Purpur 1.20.4+; this is a Paper-only capability, not exposed by plain Spigot)
- Toggle the entire scoreboard on/off, or just remove individual lines by deleting them from the list
Tag System (ranks/grades)
- Define any number of tags with a custom prefix, suffix, and color
- Three ways to assign a tag to a player, combinable:
- Default — automatically given to anyone with no other matching tag (e.g. a base "Member" rank)
- Permission-based — automatically granted via a permission node (works with LuckPerms or any permission plugin)
- Manual — assigned to a specific player one by one via command, independent of permissions, persists across restarts
- Priority system to resolve conflicts when a player qualifies for multiple tags
- Per-tag options: hide the nametag above the player's head, or disable player collision for that tag
- Tag prefix/suffix/color are applied as a real scoreboard team, so they show above the player's head in the world too, not just in the tab list

PlaceholderAPI Support (optional)
If PlaceholderAPI is installed, any %placeholder% from any other compatible plugin (economy, factions, permissions, etc.) can be used directly in the tab and scoreboard templates. Not a hard dependency — everything else works fine without it.
Commands
/tscustom status — shows which modules are currently active/tscustom tag list|set|clear — manage per-player tag assignments/tscustom reload — reload the config, applied instantly- Alias:
/tsc · Permission: tscustom.admin
Compatibility
Single JAR, no version-specific (NMS) code — works from Minecraft 1.13 up to the current version (26.2), on Spigot, Paper, and Paper forks (Purpur, etc.). Ping and tab header/footer use safe reflection to stay compatible across that whole range; the numbers-hiding feature is the one exception, requiring Paper 1.20.4+.
