MOTD is a plugin that allows you to manage the MOTD of your server and it supports the use of Color Codes. You can set an In-Game MOTD which sends a message to the players when they join the server. You can also set the System MOTD which is the message that is shown when someone pings your server.

Usage

There are two base arguments that are used for this plugin. They are /motd system and /motd ingame.
  • /motd help - This displays the ingame help menu. Each section has its own help menu, which you can access by using /motd system help and /motd ingame help.
  • /motd reload - Reload the MOTD file. Use this if you have edited the MOTD through the motd.yml.
  • /motd system - This is the base command to edit the system MOTD.
  • /motd ingame - This is the base command to edit the ingame MOTD.

System Commands
  • /motd system show - This shows the current system MOTD.
  • /motd system set <newMOTD> - This is where you set your new system MOTD. You can go to the second line by typing %newline% and then the text to put on the second line.
InGame Commands
  • /motd ingame show - This will send you the MOTD that players will get when they join.
  • /motd ingame add <text> - Add a line to the MOTD.
  • /motd ingame edit <line#> <newText> - Edit the selected line.
  • /motd ingame remove <line#> - Remove a line in the MOTD.

InGame Placeholders
  • %name% - Replaces this with the player's name.
  • %displayname% - Replaces this with the player's display name.

Permissions
  • motd.help - Allow the user to use /help motd or /motd help.
  • motd.reload - Allow the user to reload the motd.yml.
  • motd.ingame - Allow the user to edit the InGame MOTD.
  • motd.system - Allow the user to edit the System MOTD.

MOTD.yml

The MOTD.yml is where you can edit the messages and where they are saved. There are two seconds to the file,  InGame and the System.

System

We will start with the System. In the system, there is only one line. This is because you can only have a maximum of two lines in your system MOTD, which are seperated by the %newline%.

InGame

The InGame section of the file is what will be sent to the player when they join the server. You can add lines to this MOTD by inserting a hyphen followed by two apostrophes. For example, putting (- 'Welcome %name%') will add a line to the message that is sent when a player joins that will say "Welcome KaYoz".

Support

This project will be updated frequently with new placeholders and new features. If you need support on this, you can PM me on spigot, or leave a message in the discussion. Please do not leave your questions in the ratings.
