BuddyChat is a chat system that integrates a buddy system (implemented with sqlite) in your server chat. You can add friends, message your friends, and chat in a private, independent channel from the general channel. Messages from your friends will also send in the general channel and will show up blue if they were posted in the buddy channel. You can switch between the channels with /cc.
BuddyChat is a chat plugin designed to be the one and only chat plugin for your server. If you don't like the features BuddyChat provides, don't use it - it probably won't be friendly to other chat plugins because of how it's designed. If you like how it works and how I made it, then by all means use it! Also, if you want more features, go ahead and suggest them. There will be plenty of more chat-related features to implement, so stay updated with this project!
The intent of this plugin is to be powerful, feature-rich, and reliable; I'll try to keep the plugin as simple as possible as to minimize the bugs, while still packing it full of features! Keep in mind this project is still in beta!
BuddyChat requires sqlite, so make sure you have a java sqlite driver in your server directory when installing BuddyChat.jar into your plugins directory.
Check out the changelog here!
Use /bc add and /bc remove to add and remove players from your buddy list!
/bc list to list all of your buddies!
Use /w and /r to quickly have private messages with people!
Talk to your buddies on a private channel separate from the general channel
Your friends' messages will still appear in the general channel
There will be more features but I'm too lazy to keep editing this so... just go look!
Just place BuddyChat.jar in your plugins folder, make sure you have a sqlite-jdbc driver jar in your server directory as well. You can get one of those here. Make sure you have your permissions set up properly!
SQLITE IS MANDATORY FOR THIS PLUGIN TO WORK!
