Why can't vanilla weapons look cooler?
WeaponArt is a fantasy combat mod that enhances Minecraft's existing weapons with powerful weapon arts, sword waves, magical sword formations, defensive techniques, and visually impressive combat effects.
The goal is not to replace Minecraft's original weapon system.
Instead, WeaponArt builds on top of the vanilla experience:
Keep your weapon.
Keep your enchantments.
Keep your anvil progression.
Just make combat much cooler.
WeaponArt adds a variety of fantasy-style combat techniques, including:
Sword waves and energy slashes
Horizontal, diagonal, vertical, and crescent attacks
Flying sword techniques
Six-Wing Sword Formations
Large multi-sword formations
Thousand-Sword techniques
Magical circles and formations
Lightning and black-lightning effects
Defensive barrier techniques
Explosive combat effects
Large finishing attacks
Fantasy-style particles and sound effects
Many attacks use real hit detection and are not purely visual effects.
WeaponArt is designed to stay close to Minecraft's original gameplay.
You can continue to:
Use familiar weapons
Apply normal enchantments
Upgrade and combine weapons using an anvil
Progress through survival normally
Use WeaponArt techniques on top of existing equipment
The idea is simple:
Weapon → Enchantments → Anvil → WeaponArt → Legendary Weapon
A strong weapon shouldn't only have a larger damage number.
It should also look and feel powerful.
WeaponArt includes several large-scale sword techniques inspired by fantasy martial arts, cultivation stories, and action RPGs.
Depending on the technique, summoned swords may appear:
Behind the player
Around the player
Above the player
In circular formations
In wing-shaped formations
Inside magical formations
Some larger abilities summon many swords before finishing with a massive final strike.
Certain WeaponArt attacks can create explosions and large impact effects.
These effects are designed primarily for combat and visuals.
WeaponArt explosions do not intentionally destroy blocks.
This makes the mod more suitable for:
Survival worlds
Multiplayer servers
Player-built areas
Fantasy modpacks
WeaponArt has been developed with compatibility for several popular combat and equipment mods in mind, including:
Better Combat
Simply Swords
Apotheosis
Exact compatibility may depend on the versions of those mods.
WeaponArt: 1.16.3
Minecraft: 1.21.1
Mod Loader: NeoForge
Minimum NeoForge Version: 21.1.248
This release is for:
Minecraft 1.21.1 + NeoForge only
Forge, Fabric, and Quilt are currently not supported.
WeaponArt is designed for both singleplayer and multiplayer.
For multiplayer, it is strongly recommended that the server and all connecting players use the same WeaponArt version.
Recommended environment:
Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge 21.1.248 or newer compatible 21.1.x build
WeaponArt 1.16.3
WeaponArt is the first Minecraft mod I have ever created.
I work a regular full-time job, so I develop this project during my free time outside of work.
The project started from one simple thought:
Why can't vanilla weapons look cooler?
I didn't want to replace Minecraft's original weapon system.
I wanted to keep the familiar weapons, enchantments, anvils, and survival progression while making combat feel more exciting and visually powerful.
I'm still learning mod development as I continue improving WeaponArt, so there may still be bugs or compatibility issues.
If you encounter a problem or have an idea that could improve the mod, feedback is always welcome.
Thank you for trying WeaponArt and supporting my first Minecraft mod. ❤️
WeaponArt is built around one idea:
A powerful weapon shouldn't feel powerful only because its damage number is higher.
It should look powerful.
It should sound powerful.
And when you unleash its technique, everyone nearby should know something dangerous is happening.
Keep the vanilla feeling.
Make the combat legendary.
