Two craftable movement daggers inspired by Dota 2, with original Minecraft pixel art. Built for Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 on Forge, Fabric and NeoForge. Dash across gaps, retreat from mobs or launch toward higher terrain using an item in your offhand.
Dash 13 blocks in the direction you look, including up and down. At the default speed of 2.6 blocks per tick, a full dash takes five ticks. Dashes stop before obstacles and do not pass through walls. Change the key in Controls → Blink Dagger. The normal F swap-hands key remains available.

Use a separate key press for each dash. Holding the key does not repeatedly spend charges. Void Blink Dagger refreshes fall protection on every successful use. Both items are fire resistant and have no durability. They are movement tools without bonus melee damage.
An offhand HUD displays the bound key, charges, recharge timer and fall protection. English and Russian translations are included.

Empty Nether Star EmptyBoth recipes unlock in the recipe book and can be replaced with datapacks or modpack recipe tools. Item IDs: blinkdagger:blink_dagger and blinkdagger:void_dagger.
Install one matching JAR on both the client and server. For singleplayer, install it on the client. Fabric requires Fabric API for the selected Minecraft version. Forge and NeoForge do not require an additional library for this mod.
Minecraft 1.20.1 uses Java 17; Minecraft 1.21.1 uses Java 21. Each download is specific to its Minecraft version and loader. The NeoForge 1.20.1 download targets its early 47.1 branch; use the dedicated NeoForge file.
The server creates config/blinkdagger.properties. Restart after changes:

Charge pools belong to the player and dagger type: switching to another copy of the same dagger does not reset the timer. Charge progress persists across reconnects, death and dimension changes. Fall protection does not persist through death. All durations use game ticks and depend on server TPS.
Dash is unavailable while riding, sleeping or spectating. Fall protection only blocks fall damage. Check compatibility with any movement anticheat used by your modpack.
Existing configurations and key assignments are preserved when updating. If upgrading from 1.0.0, set cooldowns to 220/180 ticks in your existing server configuration. If upgrading from a version using F, select R or reset the dash key in Controls.
