VoiceNote brings modern, messaging-app style voice notes directly into your Minecraft chat! No external voice servers, no complicated setups—just press a key, speak, and send voice notes that anyone on the server can click to play with dynamic waveform visualization.
✨ Key Features
- 📱 WhatsApp-Style Hold-to-Talk (
Hold-Send):
Assign a custom key in the options menu (unassigned by default). Hold the key to instantly record, view live audio ripples and seconds on your screen, and release the key to send it immediately to chat!
- 💬 Interactive Chat Message Waveforms:
Voice notes appear in chat with a custom glowing purple label and exact duration. Hover over the message for helpful tips, and click it to open a beautiful player screen where you can play, pause, seek through, and review the voice note's waveform.
- 🔄 Play Last Voice Note Hotkey:
Assign a key to toggle playing the most recently received voice note. Press it once to play, and press it again to stop playback instantly.
- 🎛️ In-Game Configuration Menu:
Access the voice note options by clicking the microphone button next to the "Language..." button in the standard options screen:
- Microphone Input: Select any detected system microphone.
- Mic Gain: Boost your microphone volume from 50% up to 200%.
- Playback Volume: Control the playback volume of received voice notes.
- Custom Keybindings: Rebind the "Hold-Send" and "Play Last" hotkeys completely isolated from vanilla control screens.
- Microphone Test: Record a 3-second preview of your voice and play it back to adjust your microphone settings before sending to other players.
- 🌍 Multi-Language Support:
Fully localized in both English (US) and Turkish (TR) out of the box.
- ⚡ Completely Optimized & Asynchronous:
Audio device opening, capture loops, and resource cleanup are run on asynchronous background threads to ensure zero game freezes or micro-stutters when starting or stopping recordings.

🚀 How to Use
- Open your game Options menu and click the 🎙️ (Microphone) button next to "Language...".
- Select your preferred Microphone, adjust your Mic Gain, and bind a key to Hold-Send (e.g.,
V).
- Click the Test Microphone button to make sure your voice is captured clearly.
- In-Game Recording: Hold down your configured Hold-Send key. You'll see a translucent panel on top-center showing a pulsing red recording dot, time counter, and scrolling live waveforms. Release the key to instantly send the voice note to chat!
- Manual Recording: Open chat, click the 🎙️ button at the bottom-right, click Record, and then click Send after previewing your recording.
- Playing Messages: Simply click the voice note text in chat to open the review screen and start listening, or press your configured Play Last hotkey!
🔧 Installation & Requirements
- Fabric: Requires the Fabric Loader and Fabric API.
- Forge: Requires the Forge Mod Loader.
- Side: VoiceNote must be installed on both client and server for packet networking to forward voice notes between players.
