VeroxLib is a Architectury-based library with modular Sanity System for What Lurks Between.

It provides an easy-to-use API for handling player mental states, madness effects, corruption mechanics, and sanity-based gameplay systems for both Fabric and NeoForge.

VeroxLib is primarily a library for What Lurks Between, but it can also be installed standalone or used for a mod.

The Cultist system was originally created for the mod What Lurks Between, but is fully usable by any mod or modpack.

⚙️ Features

Global Sanity System

• Per-player sanity value (0.0 – 100.0)
• Sanity loss in specific biomes. Tag: is_horror_biome

Built-in Hallucinations

• Basic sanity-based hallucination effects included
• Ambient sounds and psychological feedback
• Works even without additional mods

Modular Madness Effects

• Trigger effects based on sanity thresholds
• Supports both client-side and server-side logic
• Fully extendable API for developers

Custom Attributes

Adds new gameplay attributes:

• veroxlib:corruption - increases sanity loss
• veroxlib:sanity_resistance - controlls sanity loss
• veroxlib:sanity_regen - controlls the sanity regeneration

Cultist System

• Players can become Cultists
• Cultists are immune to sanity effects
• Originally developed for What Lurks Between
• Fully reusable for custom mods, RPG systems, or factions
