- TridentPerf is a client-side Forge 1.20.1 (Java 17) performance mod for heavy modpacks that stabilizes gameplay on modern PCs. It pins critical game threads to fast CPU cores (P-cores) and sets sensible priorities to smooth frametimes on Windows and Linux. It prewarms and caches OpenGL shaders (when the driver supports ARB_get_program_binary) to eliminate first-run stutter, and it includes a gentle frametime governor that live-tunes safe settings like particle density, entity distance scaling, and singleplayer simulation distance to hold a target frame time without visual whiplash or user control loss. Works with or without shaders and coexists with common optimization stacks such as Embeddium, Oculus, Entity Culling, and Distant Horizons. Every feature is toggleable, fail-safe, and fully local (no telemetry).
