Traversable Fences lets you walk through fences and fence gates instead of being blocked by them. You can pass between posts, climb up while you are inside the fence, and stand on top once you reach the upper edge. The fences themselves stay in place. Nothing is broken and nothing new is added to your inventory.
This only affects players. Animals and monsters keep normal fence collision, so pens and farms still work as usual.
While you are moving through a fence, your sideways movement is a little slower, as if you are pushing through the wood. Hold jump to climb. If you are falling while still inside the fence, fall damage builds up more slowly. Holding sneak brings back full collision, so you can treat the fence like a normal barrier again when you want to.
Standing on top of a fence feels natural. You rest on the visible top of the fence, not on the invisible taller hitbox that usually makes you look like you are floating.
