Toms Trees transforms Minecraft’s forests with naturally branching trees, fuller canopies, towering redwood groves, and rare giant landmarks—all built from vanilla blocks.
Explore forests filled with tapered trunks, exposed branches, and varied, asymmetric crowns. Discover enormous “Hero” trees inspired by real-world landmarks, including the Major Oak, Angel Oak, and General Sherman, alongside distinctive designs such as Cathedral Birch, Starfall Cherry, and Weeping Willow.
Choose REPLACE to reshape vanilla trees, ALONGSIDE to retain vanilla trees while adding Toms Trees generation, or OFF to disable the mod’s world generation.
Commands
Commands require cheats or appropriate operator permissions. Use Tab completion to browse available species.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/tomstrees preview <species> |
Places a tree of the selected species at your location. |
/tomstrees gallery |
Generates a labeled gallery with three examples of every registered tree design. |
/tomstrees compare <species> [seed] |
Places two versions of a tree side by side to compare its original shape with its leaf-support version. |
/tomstrees clear <radius> |
Removes logs and leaves within the selected horizontal range, from 1–128 blocks, extending 8 blocks below and 96 above your position. |
/locate structure mangatrees:hero_oak |
Locates an oak Hero landmark. Other structure families, such as mangatrees:hero_redwood, are also available. |
For example, try /tomstrees preview ancient_major_oak or /tomstrees preview ancient_sequoia. The legacy /mangatrees command remains available as an alias.
Use a spacious creative test world for galleries and comparisons. The clear command removes all matching logs and leaves, including those used in builds.
Mod Menu provides an in-game configuration screen through Mods → Toms Trees → Configure. You can also edit config/mangatrees.json directly. Restart Minecraft or your server after changing settings.
Existing trees remain unchanged; explore new chunks or grow new trees to see the mod’s designs.
