You were never alone.
The Hollow is a psychological horror mod for Minecraft that turns your ordinary survival world into something that feels increasingly... wrong.
There is no warning. No quest telling you what to do. No obvious boss waiting for you.
At first, everything seems completely normal.
Then things start changing.
A door you know you closed is open.
A torch is missing from your mine.
You hear footsteps behind you, but nobody is there.
Your animals suddenly stare into the forest.
A strange structure appears somewhere you swear you've explored before.
And sometimes, far away in the darkness...
something is watching you.
The Hollow focuses on atmosphere, paranoia, and psychological horror rather than constant jumpscares.
The world reacts to the way you play.
Explore caves for too long, and you may start hearing things beneath the stone.
Spend too much time alone, and you might notice something following you.
Build a large base, and strange events may eventually begin happening inside it.
The more you encounter, the less trustworthy your world becomes.
The Hollow is the primary entity of the mod.
It rarely attacks immediately.
Sometimes you'll see it standing between trees.
Sometimes it's at the end of a cave.
Sometimes you'll only catch a glimpse of it before it disappears.
And sometimes...
it will be waiting outside your house.
The Hollow doesn't always look the same, either.
The longer you play, the more you may begin to wonder whether the thing you're seeing is actually a monster at all.
The Hollow features a hidden Paranoia System that changes the world based on your actions.
As your paranoia increases, you may experience:
Strange footsteps
Unexplained sounds
Flickering lights
Missing torches
Doors opening by themselves
Mysterious signs
Strange structures
Unusual mob behavior
False sounds and visual events
Encounters with entities
Distortions of your surroundings
Not every event is dangerous.
That's the problem.
You won't always know what's real.
The Hollow isn't the only thing in the darkness.
Something that shouldn't be able to fit inside the tunnels you're exploring.
You may hear it crawling long before you see it.
It can imitate things you're familiar with.
Footsteps.
Mob sounds.
Even things that sound like another player.
A strange humanoid entity that doesn't move like anything else in Minecraft.
It is rarely seen directly.
Deep underground, you may hear someone mining.
Follow the sound.
You might find evidence that another player was there.
You just won't find the player.
Eventually, you may discover a way into a place that looks almost exactly like your world.
Your base.
Your mines.
Your forests.
Everything is familiar.
But nothing is quite right.
The world has been copied.
And something else is living inside it.
Explore strange locations scattered throughout your world, including:
Empty Houses
Abandoned Mining Sites
Observation Towers
Strange Underground Rooms
Corrupted Structures
Unexplained Locations
Some contain loot.
Some contain clues.
Some contain things you were never supposed to find.
The Hollow uses custom sounds and environmental effects to create an unsettling atmosphere.
Expect:
Distant footsteps
Scratching
Breathing
Whispering
Strange cave noises
Unexplained impacts
Environmental distortions
Long periods of uncomfortable silence
The mod intentionally avoids constant audio cues.
Sometimes the scariest sound...
is nothing at all.
Sleeping isn't always the end of the night.
Rare events can cause strange dreams and nighttime encounters.
You may wake up somewhere familiar.
You may wake up somewhere completely different.
Or you may wake up and realize that something in your house has changed.
The Hollow is designed to fit naturally into a normal Minecraft survival experience.
There are no massive guns, complicated progression systems, or dozens of unnecessary mechanics.
You can still:
Mine
Build
Explore
Farm
Fight
Trade
Travel
Play normally
The difference is that you can no longer be completely certain you're alone.
For the best experience:
Play alone.
Use headphones.
Keep the difficulty at a normal survival setting.
Avoid watching spoilers.
Don't install other horror mods that could interfere with the experience.
And most importantly:
Don't assume every strange thing you see is part of the mod.
Minecraft will still look like Minecraft.
That's what makes it terrifying.
You know this world.
You've built here.
You've survived here.
You've explored these caves before.
So when something changes...
you'll notice.
And when you finally see what has been watching you...
it will already know where you live.
