## What it does
End Remastered 6.3.0 changed the return type of `JsonEye.getID()` from a `ResourceLocation`
to a `String`. Subtle Effects is compiled against the old signature, and since the JVM
resolves a method by its full descriptor, the call no longer exists — it dies with a
`NoSuchMethodError`.
This mod supplies that data itself, reading the id whichever way your installed End
Remastered exposes it. One injection, no registry entries, nothing bundled or modified on
disk.
## Why the crash blames the wrong mod
The failing call happens inside Subtle Effects' own constructor, so the mod never finishes
loading — and the damage does not stay local:
- FML records `Failed to create mod instance. ModID: subtle_effects` in **`debug.log` only**.
Nothing in `latest.log`, nothing on screen.
- Subtle Effects is left without a `ModContainer`, so anything that walks the mod list
afterwards trips over the gap.
- With Architectury installed, the crash report you actually get is a
`NoSuchElementException` blaming whichever mod called `Platform.getMods()` first — in
testing, Dynamic Surroundings, which has nothing to do with either mod involved.
If you are chasing something that looks like this, search `debug.log` for
`Failed to create mod instance` before trusting the crash report.
## Usage
Drop it in. There is nothing to configure.
Both dependencies are optional and the patch only applies when both mods are present, so the
jar is inert otherwise and safe to include in a modpack by default.
**Requires NeoForge 1.21.1.** Tested with End Remastered 6.3.0 and Subtle Effects 1.14.3.
If Subtle Effects ever ships its own fix, this mod becomes unnecessary — check its changelog
before adding it.
