Small Ships Viking Addon

This is an addon for Small Ships. Small Ships 2.0.0 or newer must be installed, the addon does not work without it.

The addon adds three Viking ships to Small Ships: the Knarr, the Longship and the Transport Drakkar.

Explanation

• Install Small Ships 2.0.0 or newer and this addon.
• Right-click the Small Ships Dockyard. The three ships are in the Build tab next to the ships of Small Ships.
• Controls, wind, upgrades, repairing, banners and sinking work the same as in Small Ships. You can read about them on the Small Ships page.

Ships

These are the default values. All of them can be changed in the config.

Knarr

• Small Viking ship with one sail (cold water).
• The cheapest ship to build.
• Breaks ice.
• Best with tail wind.

Longship

• Viking warship with one sail and oars (cold water).
• With oars it reaches 75% of its speed in any wind.
• Up to 14 shields, 7 on each side. Each shield reduces the damage to the ship by 3%.
• Breaks ice.
• Best with tail wind.

Transport Drakkar

• Big Viking transport ship with one sail and oars (cold water).
• 30 seats for your crew.
• With oars it reaches 75% of its speed in any wind.
• Up to 10 shields, 5 on each side. Each shield reduces the damage to the ship by 3%.
• Breaks ice.
• Best with tail wind.

Wind

The table shows the speed change at full wind strength with full sail.

• All three are cold-water ships: 20% faster in cold biomes, 20% slower in warm biomes and 5% slower in biomes that are neither cold nor warm.
• Oars are not affected by the wind.

Dockyard

Build Costs

Any type of planks can be used. The wood type of the ship is chosen in the Dockyard.

Upgrades

Config

Server config (smallships_viking_addon-server.toml)

• Hull, speed, reverse speed, turning, acceleration and turn acceleration for each ship.
• Inventory slots for each ship (must be divisible by 9).
• Water type for each ship: NONE, COLD, NEUTRAL or WARM.
• updateCheckerEnable writes a new version to the server log.

Client config (smallships_viking_addon-client.toml)

• updateCheckerEnable shows a chat message with a download link when a new version is available.

If you use the dockyardBuildableShips list in the Small Ships config, add the ships of this addon to it:
smallships_viking_addon:knarr, smallships_viking_addon:longship, smallships_viking_addon:transport_drakkar

Datapacks

The Dockyard recipes can be changed with a datapack. One file per ship: data/smallships_viking_addon/dockyard_recipes/<ship>.json (knarr, longship, transport_drakkar). build_time is in ticks.

Modpack Permissions

You are allowed to use the Small Ships Viking Addon in any modpack,
as long as you link back to this page and don’t make money off of it.
