Sculk-Infused Netherite

Sculk-Infused Netherite is an unofficial late-game progression addon for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge), built around the Deep Dark, the Warden, Advanced Netherite and Deeper and Darker.

It converts Advanced Netherite Diamond gear into Sculk-Infused equipment, and every piece then develops over 15 Infusion Levels through the Sculk Workbench — unlocking abilities, passing Stabilization milestones and feeding a dedicated advancement tree.

The goal is equipment that keeps progressing across a long playthrough instead of acting as a one-time gear swap.

At a glance

  • 9 progression paths — 5 tools and weapons, 4 armor pieces, each with its own theme
  • 135 cumulative abilities — 15 per piece, none of them replace each other
  • 3 Stabilizations at Infusion Level 5, 10 and 15
  • Armor set system — Deep Link, Sculk Relay and Deep Synchrony connect the four armor pieces
  • Infusion Vessel — reusable, holds 3000 Stored Infusion, earned through Deep Dark gameplay
  • 9 custom enchantments, several of which scale with Infusion Level
  • Loot integration in Ancient Cities, the Deep Dark and Deeper and Darker Ancient Temples
  • Persistent progression — levels are stored on the item, not in a separate block
  • Multiplayer-safe — client & server

Getting started

  1. Craft the Sculk Workbench — netherite ingot, echo shard, 4 sculk.
  2. Convert Advanced Netherite Diamond gear into Sculk-Infused equipment at the bench.
  3. Bank Infusion in an Infusion Vessel earned through Deep Dark activity.
  4. Level equipment to Infusion Level 15, stabilizing at Levels 5, 10 and 15.

Full ability lists, stabilization costs and recipes are on the official wiki.

Infusion Progression

Every Sculk-Infused weapon, tool and armor piece progresses independently from Infusion Level 1 to 15 — 135 unique abilities in total across the nine pieces.

Abilities are cumulative. A Level 15 item has everything a Level 1 item had, plus 14 more unlocks; nothing is lost, replaced or downgraded along the way.

Progression is gated by three Stabilizations, performed at the Sculk Workbench:

Level Stabilization Cost
5 First Stabilization 250 Stored Infusion
10 Deep Stabilization 600 Stored Infusion
15 Harmonic Stabilization 1200 Stored Infusion

A piece cannot level past a milestone until that Stabilization is done, so leveling and stabilizing alternate throughout a run rather than happening once at the end. A single fully stocked Infusion Vessel covers any one Stabilization on its own.

Sculk-Infused gear created in earlier versions can be brought into the Infusion System, so existing worlds and existing equipment stay valid.

Equipment Progression

Each piece has its own theme and 15 unique abilities. Key milestones:

Sculk-Infused Diamond Netherite Sword — combat: echoes, defeated creatures, combat memory, movement L1 Echo Trace · L5 Lingering Echo · L10 Echo Shift · L15 Abyssal Chorus

Sculk-Infused Diamond Netherite Pickaxe — mining: ore veins, geological sensing, underground exploration L1 Vein Echo · L5 Resonant Extraction · L10 Faultline · L15 Worldvein

Sculk-Infused Diamond Netherite Axe — woodcutting: trees, connected timber, chopping rhythm L1 Grain Echo · L5 Resonant Felling · L10 Cleaving Line · L15 Crown Echo

Sculk-Infused Diamond Netherite Shovel — terrain: excavation, buried terrain, cavities L1 Sediment Echo · L5 Resonant Clearing · L10 Trenchline · L15 Underwake

Sculk-Infused Diamond Netherite Hoe — farming: crops, soil, cultivation, field management L1 Root Echo · L5 Resonant Harvest · L10 Cultivation Wave · L15 Sculkbloom

Armor Progression

Helmet — awareness and detection: darkness, nearby threats, vibrations, environmental awareness L1 Echo Sight · L5 Sculk Perception · L10 Sonic Mapping · L15 Oracle of Silence

Chestplate — defense and stored force: adaptive defense, barriers, damage memory, kinetic energy L1 Deep Guard · L5 Echo Barrier · L10 Kinetic Release · L15 Abyssal Heartguard

Leggings — stability and endurance: inertia, endurance, knockback control L1 Anchored Balance · L5 Grounded Flow · L10 Deep Anchor · L15 Unshaken

Boots — movement and landing: terrain movement, landing effects, fall handling, traversal L1 Soft Echo · L5 Echo Landing · L10 Sculkbound · L15 Worldstep

Wearing the complete four-piece set additionally removes Blindness and Darkness, pacifies Endermen, Piglins and Phantoms within roughly 2 blocks, and unlocks the Armor of Undying advancement.

Deep Synchrony

A fully developed armor set gains a progression layer that the individual pieces do not have on their own. Every tier requires all four pieces at the listed level with the matching Stabilization completed.

Level 5 — Deep Link Unlocks cross-piece interactions between the Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings and Boots.

Level 10 — Sculk Relay Unlocks the Synchrony Meter, which builds from real armor events: detecting threats, preventing damage, resisting knockback and significant landings. At 100 the next major armor response triggers Sculk Relay automatically for 4 seconds.

Level 15 — Deep Synchrony At maximum Synchrony the ability becomes ready and can be activated manually, temporarily enhancing the four armor subsystems for 8 seconds. Completing it unlocks Armor of the Deep.

Infusion Vessel

A reusable item that stores Infusion collected in play. It holds up to 3000 Stored Infusion.

Stored Infusion is earned by doing Deep Dark things, not by crafting:

  • Killing hostile mobs in the Deep Dark
  • Killing Deeper and Darker creatures
  • Defeating a Warden
  • Activating a natural Sculk Shrieker
  • Successfully summoning a Warden
  • Absorbing a real Warden Sonic Boom with a Sonic Aegis

Stabilization consumes the stored Infusion. The Vessel itself is never consumed and refills indefinitely.

Sculk Workbench

The mod's central station. It handles both Sculk-Infused equipment creation and equipment Stabilization.

Stabilization requires three things at the bench:

  • The Sculk-Infused equipment
  • An intact Sonic Aegis
  • An Infusion Vessel holding enough Stored Infusion

Progression is applied to the item itself, so enchantments, durability, custom names and other data are preserved across every level and every Stabilization. JEI shows supported Sculk Workbench recipes.

Custom Enchantments

Nine Deep Dark-themed enchantments.

Enchantment Levels Applies to Effect
Resonant Fracture I–III Weapons Marks a target; its movement charges the mark, the next full hit detonates it for bonus damage
Warden's Wrath I–III Swords Stores wrath when the wearer is damaged, then releases it as bonus melee damage
Deep Listener I–II Swords Privately signals the nearest moving living entity through sculk particles and directional sound
Resonant Excavation I–II Pickaxes Signals hidden ore when stone is mined nearby, without revealing ore positions
Deep Current I–II Pickaxes Draws mined items and experience toward you through a steady sculk current
Seismic Thread I–III Pickaxes Sustained mining through natural geology builds a rhythm that raises mining speed
Pressure Sense I–II Pickaxes Warns of nearby lava, water and open cavities through directional vibrations
Echoquake I–III Boots Significant landings release a sculk shockwave that pushes nearby entities away
Echo Streak I–III Swords Consecutive kills of the same creature type raise the experience they drop

Resonant Fracture and Warden's Wrath are mutually exclusive. Deep Current, Seismic Thread and Pressure Sense also work on compatible non-Sculk pickaxes. Several enchantments scale directly with Infusion Level, so enchanting and leveling are complementary rather than competing sources of power.

Items

Warden Ring — Accessories-compatible Warden-themed ring. +1 max health and Resistance I while worn, cannot be enchanted, and loses 1 durability every 20 seconds.

Sonic Aegis — Warden-themed defensive item that interacts with real Warden Sonic Boom attacks. Taking damage through its special mechanic can crack it into a Cracked Sonic Aegis, which can be repaired later. Custom names survive both transitions:

Warden Breaker → Cracked Warden Breaker → Warden Breaker

Renaming a cracked shield changes the identity carried through future repairs:

Cracked Warden Breaker → King → repair → King → crack → Cracked King

Also included: Sculk-Infused Golden Apple, Sonic Aegis Shard, Echo Seal, Quieting Sigil, Vibration Decoy, Infusion Vessel.

World & Loot Integration

Content is placed into existing world content rather than being confined to recipes:

  • Ancient Cities
  • The Deep Dark
  • Wardens and Sculk Shriekers
  • Deeper and Darker Ancient Temples

Deep Dark exploration is the intended main source of progression material, so gearing up is tied to actually going underground.

Advancements

A dedicated advancement tree tracks both discovery and progression. Finishing a single piece to Infusion Level 15 unlocks its Perfected advancement, and completing entire equipment categories unlocks larger end goals.
