Railcraft Engines

Railcraft Engines is an unofficial addon for Railcraft Reborn that brings back three classic steam engines from the original Railcraft.

Currently available for Minecraft 1.21.1 and 26.1.2, with support for additional Minecraft versions in development.

Engines

• Hobbyist Steam Engine: Burns solid furnace-compatible fuel and uses water to generate steam internally, then consumes that steam to produce energy.
• Commercial Steam Engine: Uses externally supplied steam to generate energy.
• Industrial Steam Engine: Uses externally supplied steam to generate energy at a higher rate.

• A dedicated Creative Mode tab
• Automation support for Hobbyist fuel, water containers, and empty-container output
• Water input for the Hobbyist and steam input for the Commercial and Industrial engines through compatible pipes
• Directional energy output
• Crowbar interactions for engine rotation and overheat reset

JEI is optional and can display the engine crafting recipes.

The Hobbyist Steam Engine consumes its own internally generated steam. Its internal steam cannot be extracted through pipes.

Supported Versions and Requirements

Download the Railcraft Engines file that matches your Minecraft version, and use the dependency versions specified for that file.

Install Railcraft Engines and Railcraft Reborn on both the client and server. JEI is optional.

Ongoing Development

We are working on support for additional Minecraft versions, alongside compatibility updates, fixes, and improvements to the existing releases.
