Once placed it acts as a normal cake so you cant get it back, has the same amount of slices as the normal vanilla cake but you cant see the slices being eaten. Has only the outline of the cake 1x1x1 when selected but does not add any shape to step on, making it as flat as the ground around. Can't be used as a slab to step on like the normal cake.
Using a Stonecutter you place a vanilla cake into the input and get a PixelCake in the output. You can convert the PixelCake back into a Cake if you wish.
