You can create a phantom flame from 1 blaze powder, 1 phantom membrane, and 1 magma block. Swap the magma block for soul soil for a soul phantom flame.
After that, you can add any dye to a regular phantom flame to color it.
More phantom flames can be made using other items in place of dyes. Check the images tab.
Any phantom flame can be duplicated by combining it with a blaze powder.
They can be placed facing any direction, and do not require a block to support them.
They do not deal any damage.
