Oblivion: Space Exploration is a Minecraft space mod focused on exploration, ships, planets, creatures, and technology.
Build or buy a ship, leave your world behind, and travel through space to discover new planets. Each planet has its own terrain, atmosphere, creatures, structures, resources, and dangers to find. Some are relatively safe to explore, while others will require better equipment and preparation.
Ships are a major part of the mod. Instead of simply teleporting between locations, ships can smoothly fly through space. You can walk around inside them, use them for exploration, and take them between planets.
Oblivion also includes multiblock machines, survival systems, new equipment, and other technology designed around progressing further into space.
The mod is still actively being developed, so new planets, creatures, structures, machines, ships, and other features will continue to be added over time.
AI disclosure
AI tools were used extensively during development of Oblivion, including for programming assistance, textures, models, and other assets. This is a passion project, and AI has been used as a development tool to help make the scope of the mod possible. I still review, test, edit, come up with ideas, and integrate the content used in the final mod. If the use of AI isn’t something you’re comfortable with then that is completely understandable, and this mod may simply not be for you.
Minecraft 1.20.1
Forge 47.4.10
Java 17
GeckoLib Forge 1.20.1 version 4.7.1.3
Install GeckoLib alongside Oblivion on both the client and server. Make sure everyone connecting to a server is using the same version of Oblivion.
Purchased ships belong to the player who bought them. Other players cannot control someone else's ship unless they have permission level 2 or higher. Though a ship crew system is planned for the future to allow giving permissions.
Oblivion is currently in beta. Bugs, balance issues, and unfinished features are still possible, so backing up important worlds before updating or testing is recommended.
If you run into a bug, please include your Minecraft, Forge, GeckoLib, and Oblivion versions, what you were doing when the problem happened, and any relevant logs or crash reports.
Please leave a comment with any suggestions, bugs, or feedback you have. Playtesting and feedback help a lot with development.
