Natural Survival is a fork of SchopCraft with more of a focus on realistic, immersive survival elements. I've always loved these type of mods, but despite many mods across many minecraft versions have yet to find one that worked fully and was properly balanced. Although SchopCraft came very close, the balance was still not quite there and like so many before it, it included a number of (in my opinion) unnecessary features. Since development on that mod appears to have stopped, I decided to fork it and modify it to fit my vision of what a minecraft survival mod should be.
This initial release features a rebalanced Temperature system that feels much more "real", integration with InGameInfoXML mod for GUI info, as well as the original SchopCraft thirst mechanics and seasons info. In future versions I plan on better balancing the thirst system (it's mostly good, just a few tweaks I'd like to make) and adding a number of other survival mechanics (still testing ideas at this stage so don't want to commit to specific features just yet).
