Mob Tag Fixes

A small NeoForge mod that adds modded mobs to the vanilla entity type tags they belong in, so vanilla combat mechanics work on them. Pure data and tags, nothing is patched or mixin'd.

What it does

A lot of vanilla combat behavior is decided by entity type tags. Smite and the healing and harming effect use minecraft:undead, raids and Bad Omen use minecraft:raiders, and Bane of Arthropods uses the arthropod tag. However, a modded mob is only in those tags if its own mod added it there, and many mods do not, so a modded skeleton takes no extra damage from Smite and is healed by a Potion of Healing, a modded illager is skipped by raids, and Bane of Arthropods does not work on a modded spider.

Mob Tag Fixes adds those mobs to the tags they were left out of. Every entry is soft, so a mod you do not have is skipped instead of causing an error, and the vanilla tags are extended rather than overwritten.

What it covers

Undead covers the summoned skeletons, zombies, and draugr from Iron's Spells, Cataclysm Spellbooks, Traveloptics, and GameTechBC, along with the undead from Born in Chaos, Alex's Mobs, Alex's Caves, and Mutant Monsters.

Raiders and illager covers the Iron's Spells Archevoker and the It Takes a Pillage bandit faction.

Arthropod covers the modded insects and crustaceans from Alex's Mobs, Ars Nouveau, Cataclysm, and Iron's Spells.

Config

A per mod config at config/mob_tag_fixes-common.toml turns off any mod's additions, with the clear entries and the borderline ones like spirits, pumpkin knights, and headless types split into separate switches, so you can keep what you want and turn off what you do not. Set a group to false and those mobs stay out of the tags. A datapack can also remove individual entries, since the additions are plain tag files.

Notes

Server side only. No hard dependency on any supported mod, and it is safe to add or remove from an existing world. It works alongside Extra Damage Enchantments if you use that for its extra damage categories.
