In default Minecraft, hostile mobs can often be zerg rushed—you die, run back, and slowly beat them down with little consequence.
Mob Health Regen changes that.
With this mod installed, fights must be won fair and square. If you die while fighting a hostile mob, it will fully regenerate its health, preventing death-loop cheesing and forcing players to approach combat more carefully.

If you die during combat, the mob instantly regenerates all of its health.
