Long COVID Difficulty [FABRIC]

Description

 Long COVID Mode is a mod created to shed light on how an estimated 65+ million Long COVID patients worldwide are living life on a whole new level of difficulty. Based on the experiences of the patients from our organisation, Long COVID Europe, this mod turns real Long COVID symptoms into in-game effects.

Be ready to go through your day with limited energy and as little life force as possible. There will be a chance of exertion intolerance kicking in every time you move (denoted by the battery icon). If you don’t stand still for a while, it will evolve to exertion with dizziness. If you still don’t stop moving, it will result in Post-Exertion Malaise (PEM) which will drain you almost entirely.

Cognitive dysfunction a.k.a Brain Fog:

Lowered concentration – You will mine ores inefficiently and end up only with the stone from those blocks.

Losing track of time – Occasionally, time will pass without you realising.

Weak memory – You will leave things behind without realising.

Reduced focus – Hitting your target with a bow will become extremely difficult.

Shortness of breath – Many quick moments will leave you immobile for 2.5-5 seconds.

Digestive problems – Sometimes, even eating will hurt.

Compromised lungs – Underwater expeditions will get a whole lot tougher.

Insomnia – You will lie awake in bed for longer.

Bad sleep – You might wake up several times in the middle of the night and feel more exhausted in the morning.

• Long COVID is a debilitating illness that occurs in at least 10% of all COVID-19 cases.
• At least 65 million individuals worldwide are estimated to have Long COVID, with cases increasing daily. 
• More than 200 symptoms have been identified with impacts on multiple organ systems.
• A significant proportion of individuals with Long COVID are unable to return to work.
• Many patients struggle to do basic daily activities and experience a wide range of secondary mental health issues.
• Few people with Long COVID demonstrate full recovery.
• A third of people with Long COVID have no identified pre-existing conditions.

Please note: This is a pro-bono effort by everyone involved. The intention of this mod is not to trivialize the condition of patients. It is aimed at those who are unaware of these conditions and how difficult life can be with them.

This is a Minecraft version 1.19.4 mod. This mod is not compatible with any other mods except the FabricAPI mod.
We recommend following the channel, 'The Breakdown' on YouTube and using their 'How to install Fabric mods on Windows/Mac' tutorials to install this mod.
