Survive, scale, and conquer. Turn your experience points into your most vital survival resource.
LIFE-XP Challenge is a hardcore progression and survival overhaul mod for Minecraft 1.21.2 or 26.2, developed on a unified Architectury monorepo supporting both Fabric and NeoForge with 100% feature parity.
In vanilla Minecraft, experience levels are trivial—used merely for enchanting or anvil repairs, and mostly forgotten after reaching level 30. LIFE-XP binds your entire physical existence to your XP bar:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| $O(1)$ Dynamic Scaling | 15 player attributes smoothly scale using highly optimized $O(1)$ math. No server freezes, even if you receive 50,000 levels at once. |
| Visual Peril System | Immersive vignette and ambient ash particles at low experience levels. Replaces legacy fog, resolving chunk culling drops. |
| Persistent Kill Streaks | Up to +100% XP from mob kills. Streaks are now saved to player NBT, persisting across sessions with a 5-minute AFK timeout. |
| Right-Click & AoE Harvest | Instantly harvest and replant mature crops with Right-Click. Enchant tools with XP Harvester 2+ for AoE crop gathering and a strict 6-block Ore VeinMiner. |
| Data-Driven Enchants | Extract mod artifacts directly from the water using the Anomaly Angler enchantment. |
| Brewable XP-Shield | Damage drains XP before health, but only if you brew the custom XP-Shield Potion (up to 75% absorption). |
| Origins-Style Presets | First-time joiners are greeted with a mandatory, unclosable GUI to select and permanently lock their difficulty preset. |
| Interactive UI | Clean HUD with 10 XP bubbles, color-shifting level text, paginated /lifexp status, and color-ranked /lifexp top leaderboards. |

Upon joining the world for the first time, an unclosable GUI will prompt you to choose your destiny. Once chosen, your preset is locked to your character forever via NBT.
