# The Lick
A cross on the ground. Animals gathered in strange formations. A motionless figure at the back of a cave... until it starts chasing you.
**The Lick** brings the legend of the masked figure to Minecraft, featuring unsettling encounters and strange signs scattered across the world.
### Features
- **Spawns in dark Overworld caves** after two in-game days have passed.
- **Observation and pursuit:** Lick watches you for a few seconds before rushing toward you. Getting too close or attacking him can trigger an immediate reaction.
- **Terrain anomalies:** dug-out crosses, square pits, stacked stairs, and plants growing on stone.
- **Strange animal behaviors:** including odd groupings and the occasional horse appearing atop classic village streetlamps.
- **Customizable settings:** adjust encounter frequency, damage, speed, and duration.
- Spawn egg and commands to test the mod without waiting.
### Requirements
**Minecraft Java 1.20.1 · Forge 47.4.23 · Java 17**
No dependencies like GeckoLib or other libraries required. For multiplayer, it must be installed on both the server and the clients.
### Commands
With cheats enabled or operator permissions:
- `/lick summon` — Summons Lick near you.
- `/lick dismiss` — Removes active spawns from the dimension.
- `/lick status` — Checks his status.
