At present, Arcane Rework is compatible with Forge 1.20.4. Efforts are underway to make it backward compatible with versions 1.18.2 to 1.20.1. However, there are no plans to port it to NeoForge and Fabric.
Arcane Repair is a modification that revamps the repair and enchanting mechanics in Minecraft.
Anvils:
The following changes have been made to Anvils:
- Item enchantments will not be preserved after an item’s repair, unless the Arcane Forging enchantment is present alongside them.
- Experience is no longer consumed by the Anvil.
- Tools can now be "Gilded" if combined with an Enchanted Gold Ingots which can only be found in Bastion Remnants.
Mending:
The Mending enchantment has also undergone some changes:
- Enchantment Levels: By default, Mending now has 5 levels.
- Repair Mechanics: The previous ratio of 1 XP to 2 durability repair no longer applies. Instead, the amount of durability restored to the item per 1 XP point increases with the enchantment level.
- Minimum XP Requirement: If the experience points are less than 1 XP, the item won’t be repaired.
- RNG Removal: The randomness associated with Mending has been eliminated. Now, the enchantment prioritizes repairing the item with the lowest durability first across the entire inventory.
- Equipping Not Required: Items no longer need to be equipped for Mending to repair them.
- Experience Distribution: The experience gained is divided among all items with the Mending enchantment.
These adjustments enhance the usability and efficiency of Mending. 🛠️✨
Arcane Forging:
For each level of Arcane Forging, a 10% chance is added to keep other enchantments on the item. Arcane Forging is a treasure enchantment.
Unbreaking:
Unbreaking's maximum level has been increased to 10. For each level of Unbreaking, a 10% chance for the item to not break is added.
Curses:
The mod adds one curse to the game:
- Curse of Tearing: The opposite of Mending.

Enchanting Table:
The following changes have been made to the Enchanting Table:
- Treasure Enchantments now show up in the Enchanting Table if a tool is "Gilded".
- If a tool isn't Gilded, there's now a 10% chance for the tool to become Cursed.
