Release the use button for an instant and your food resumes — it does not start over.
Minecraft 26.3 · Fabric · Client + server · No Fabric API needed
You are at 4 hunger points, mid fight, chugging a golden apple. Your finger slips off the button for a single tick, or a hopper GUI steals the click, or your mouse double-fires.
Vanilla throws away all the eating progress and makes you start from zero.
Keep Eating remembers how far along your food or potion was. If you press use again within 1 second, it picks up exactly where it left off.
| Vanilla | Keep Eating | |
|---|---|---|
| Release the button for 2 ticks | progress lost | progress kept |
| Press use again | restarts at 0% | resumes at 60% |
| Interrupted by a hotbar slot change | restarts | resumes |
| Getting hit while eating | restarts | resumes |
| Food finished eating | — | memory cleared, no exploits |

0.19.5 or newermods folderServers: install it on the server too. The client alone will show the animation resuming, but the server decides when the food is actually eaten.
Is this cheating on multiplayer?
No. The mod can only ever resume progress you already earned inside a 1 second window, and the server runs the exact same check. It can never make eating faster than vanilla.
Does it work on a vanilla server?
The animation will resume client side, but the server still eats at vanilla speed, so you will see a small mismatch. Install it on both sides for the real behaviour.
Can I change the 1 second window?
Yes, grace_ticks in the config. Set it to 10 for half a second, or higher if you like.
Other loaders / versions?
Right now: Fabric, Minecraft 26.3. Ask in the comments if you want another version.
