Give Minecraft’s natural landscapes a smoother shape while keeping its familiar pixel textures and biome colours.
Smooth Terrain rounds hills, mountains and caves without replacing your world’s blocks. Customize the look in-game—from subtle rounding to more dramatic terrain.
Building materials, logs and leaves keep their original models by default. Natural materials such as raw stone can also appear in buildings; use the blacklist to protect those blocks.
Safe movement is enabled by default, preserving Minecraft’s normal player and animal collisions.
Optional experimental rounded player movement follows the smoothed terrain more closely. Recent fixes address singleplayer rubberbanding, uphill sticking and downhill ground contact while preserving jumping, obstacles and cliff falling.
At high rounding levels, safe-mode collision boxes can differ from the visible terrain.
Recent optimizations reduce terrain-baking work, emitted vertices, temporary allocations and collision-calculation time. Actual performance depends on your hardware, settings, shaders and installed mods.
Compatibility depends on the specific versions and configuration. Experimental rounded movement has not been verified in live multiplayer.
Mod Menu is optional. Smooth Terrain does not require Fabric API or Cloth Config. Sodium, Iris and shader packs are installed separately.
mods folder.Existing settings are preserved when updating. Smoothing changes the terrain’s appearance; your saved block IDs and world grid remain unchanged.
