Hostile Humans Unified is a standalone Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1, derived from Hostile Humans and incorporating content from Human Gunner. It adds four ranks of human enemies: Roamers and Tier I–III soldiers, with different attributes, equipment, combat skills, and ranged accuracy. Neither original mod is required.
Version 3.5.0 improves Better Combat integration, including weapon-aware attack reach and continuous attack animations for soldiers. TaCZ gunners receive improved aiming and reload presentation; when a target remains out of sight, they can approach or reposition to find a firing lane, then resume their preferred combat distance once they can see the target. Durability enchantments now apply to hired soldiers' weapons and armor, with armor wear limited by a shared cooldown.
Optional integrations include TaCZ, Better Combat, Curios, Spartan Weaponry, Spartan Shields, and Immersive Armors. These mods are not required to run Hostile Humans Unified.
Wild humans react to players according to the identity badge they carry. Depending on the badge's clearance, they may become hostile, remain neutral, or protect the player. Players can recruit humans with rank-matched contracts and manage them through the soldier panel and radio. Hired soldiers can follow, patrol, guard an area, or hold position, with separate options for active attack, passive protection, and neutrality. Their inventory UI allows players to manage weapons, armor, and supplies.

Humans use melee weapons, shields, bows, crossbows, tridents, and—when TaCZ is installed—firearms. Ranged fighters seek useful firing positions and maintain weapon-specific distances. They can switch to melee when enemies get close, retreat at low health, and use available food or potions. They also respond to threats such as creepers and lava, and can fight or seek a reachable shore in water.
Players can call temporary friendly reinforcements with signal flares or summon hostile humans with beacons. The radio shows hired soldiers and lets players manage or recall them. Many gameplay settings—including rank attributes, weapon accuracy, spawning, hiring limits, and firearm lists—can be adjusted in the configuration file.
