Welcome to Legend of the Guns, a Forge mod which adds guns and special armor that support up to eight effects to either add to the punishment or defend against it. Every item and block is rendered from custom 3d models, guns have custom sounds, actual cycle rates, reload rates, support mags, and can be upgraded. Armor and guns support complete style changes from black guns/armor to golden ones, to several different types of camouflage. Both bullets alone and bullets with effects not only affect living things but also the blocks around you. You can shoot a lever and activate it, TNT to set it off, if your really crazy add explode effect and increase the TNT's yield up to 10 times. Freeze water, set stuff on fire, light up an area, or even teleport a cow back to a fenced in area. Bullets make appropriate sounds when they hit stuff too. All this and tons more is possible with any of the guns in this mod. Lastly this mod uses a RPG system for balancing the guns and armor with Minecraft. Players have levels, acquire GP which can be used to get more items, effects also have their own levels called AP and get stronger as they level up. Together it all makes for a balanced game that brings a fresh new idea to the game of Minecraft.

Recipes

 

There currently is only 2 required recipes in the mod. A steel foundry, used to make steel and high carbon steel, and a vending machine which allows you to purchase everything in this mod using GP your awarded for killing stuff and completing special tasks. All other recipes are purely optional. A complete list of recipes can be found at our official Legend of the Guns site. These 2 recipes and a few helpful but entirely optional ones are listed below.

Game Play

 

[r] reload or un-jam a gun (gun has to be in hand)

[f] look down sights (gun has to be in hand)

[h] toggle HUD display (basic or advanced steel helmet must be equipped)

[v] toggle fire mode (gun and at least one equipped effect 3rnd or full auto required)

mouse:[right click] fire gun

 

 

Gun Troubleshooting

 

Problem:

Gun has bullets but wont fire

 

Solution(s)

Guns get dirty so they need to be cleaned, the more the get dirty the more they jam. [r] button clears jams.

Clean your gun with the gun cleaning bench

when in doubt cycle off the gun and back on, or throw it out of your hand and pick it back up to reset

 

Problem:

Gun wont reload

 

Solution(s)

make sure you have the correct bullets in your inventory somewhere

make sure you have a loaded mag if it takes mags

remember there is a timer for reloads, so give it enough time to actually reload before cycling off gun

make sure gun is in hand when you reload it

when in doubt cycle off the gun and back on, or throw it out of your hand and pick it back up to reset

 

Effect Tips and Tricks

 

Tools and Extraction Tools, are used to do a lot of things associated to changing or configuring your guns. They can be used interchangeably in most cases. However when extracting effects from guns, swords, or armor they have 2 different outcomes. Regular tools can extract an effect from a gun, however its not designed for it so it destroys the gun in the process, leaving you with just the effect you wanted extracted. Extraction tools however are designed for this, so they will remove the effect and leave the gun intact. That is also why extraction tools cost more in the vending machine.

 

Effects can combine to make bigger better results, or they can cross each other out. Example fire and ice would cancel themselves out when affecting blocks, but magnum and any effect will increase their damage and effect. Teleport overrides all the other damaging effects because you don't want to kill the sheep your wanting to send back to your pen.

 

Combo Effects

Legend tells of secret combinations of effects that do special stuff beyond anything that can be done alone, just remember effects can also do stuff to blocks you hit, so feel free to play around with different loadouts and targets or check out our official Legend of the Guns website for the full scoop.
